Foster heads to Oulton Park hoping to continue run of silverware

27th June 2019

This weekend will see Louis Foster travel to Oulton Park, where he will be looking to continue his fine form in the FIA British Formula 4 Championship that has seen the fifteen-year-old finish on the podium at every race venue as he sits five-points adrift of the championship leader.

The Copart-sponsored driver picked up more silverware at a rain-hit Croft, tackling challenging conditions which saw one of the three races being postponed until a later date. Now, the Double-R Racer turns his attention to Oulton Park, where the 15-year-old will be looking to add more points to his impressive tally and move back into the championship lead.

Looking forward to heading back out on the track – only two weeks after his last outing – Louis will be taking on the 2.2-mile Island Circuit, characterised by its rapidly changing gradients, blind crests and several tight corners.

Enjoying an excellent start to his debut season in single-seaters, the Vansdirect-sponsored driver already has three wins and eight podiums to his name, giving Louis 172 points in his championship campaign to date. He currently sits just five behind championship leader Zane Maloney as we reach the fifth race weekend of the season.

“Our form so far this season has been very consistent,” Louis said ahead of the weekend. “We’ve picked up points in every race so far which is great, and the credit goes to the team on that for giving me such a fantastic car.
“The championship is so close at the moment, and every point will matter come the end of the season, so we’re just taking each race as it comes. Hopefully this weekend we can be back on the top step of the podium, and turnover the five-point deficit to Zane at the top of standings!”

Action will begin at Oulton Park for the Lord Wandsworth pupil with two free practice sessions on Friday before Saturday will see qualifying take place at 09:05. With the first of two races on Saturday beginning at 14:20, with the second at 17:45, Louis will then return to the track on Sunday for one race at 14:05, shown live on ITV4.
