Louis Foster makes Euroformula Open debut at Spa-Francorchamps

12th October 2020

MB Partners are delighted to announce that Louis Foster will make his debut in the Euroformula Open series at Spa-Francorchamps with Double R Racing on the weekend of the 17th and 18th October.

The 17-year-old’s European single-seater debut comes midway through a hugely successful maiden campaign in the BRDC British F3 Championship with Double R Racing. Louis currently holds third place in the standings with three wins and six podium finishes to his name and also leads the Jack Cavill Pole Position Cup with four pole positions.

Prior to that, the Copart-sponsored driver claimed third place in the 2019 F4 British Championship with six wins, 13 podiums and five pole positions – also with Double R Racing.

Continuing their successful partnership together, Double R Racing will field Louis for a cameo appearance at the Spa-Francorchamps round of the Euroformula Open Championship, providing the Poggesi-supported driver with his first taste of European competition.

Made possible through performance-related bonuses and the support from his sponsors, the Lord Wandsworth College student is excited to get the weekend underway.

“I’m really looking forward to getting on track at Spa-Francorchamps,” Louis said. “I’m always looking for new experiences and challenges and this will be no different. Spa is a legendary track with a lot of history so my first few laps will be quite special as I get up to speed. As a team we’ve had a really strong year so far and I’m very grateful to Double R Racing for offering me the chance to take part and continue my development.”

MB Partners CEO, Mark Blundell, is equally excited for Louis and looks forward to seeing his progress throughout the weekend:

“Louis has worked exceptionally hard this year and has delivered some superb results that clearly demonstrate his talent and work ethic. He’s fully deserving of the opportunity to take another step forward in his development and he’s proven how adaptable he can be so I’ve no doubt he’ll make the most of it and I wish him the very best of luck.”
