Foster heads to home of IndyCar for Month of May special

Louis Foster is aiming for a first victory of the season in the Indy NXT Series at Indianapolis this weekend.

Foster, 20, is third in the championship after a rollercoaster pair of races to start the season at St Petersburg and Barber.

Last time out in Alabama Foster delivered one of the most sensational drives in the championship’s recent memory. He came from 21st to fifth in the #26 Andretti Global Copart car after electrical troubles plagued his whole weekend and meant he couldn’t even set a qualifying lap.

“Barber was a great comeback and shows that, as a team, we never give up,” says Foster, who is backed by Copart, a global leader in online auto auctions.
“It’s adversity like that which can bring a team closer together, and we’ve been working hard to prepare and make sure we’re ready for Indianapolis as best as we can.
“I’ve tested a lot on the Indy road course in my career and last year we were very close to a win, so hopefully we can go one better this year.”

The Indy NXT championship races in support of IndyCar’s road course event which kicks off ‘the Month of May’ featuring the Indianapolis 500, the world’s biggest single-day sporting event.

It’s a prestigious event to be involved in, and the Indy NXT race has its own benefits too.

“To race at the Brickyard in the Month of May when the Indy 500 takes place is an honour, and with it being a double header this weekend, it means we get two chances to try and put on a good show in front of the IndyCar teams,” adds Foster.
“I’m really looking forward to this weekend which, as one of the two double-header weekends, is a massive chance to bag a lot of points for the championship.”

In the UK you’ll be able to watch Louis in action on Sky Sports F1. In America the event will be broadcast on Peacock and for countries which don’t have a broadcast partner, the sessions are available on IndyCar Live for streaming.
