Following on from his highly successful Euroformula Open debut at Spa-Francorchamps, Louis Foster will return to the series with Double R Racing for the season finale in Barcelona this weekend.
The 17-year-old impressed on his debut in Belgium by qualifying inside the top five twice and taking victory in only his second race in the series.
Returning to the series, the Poggesi-sponsored driver will contest the remaining four races around the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya with the Double R Racing team.
Together, Louis and the team have enjoyed a wide range of success with three wins, six podium finishes and four pole positions so far in this year’s BRDC British F3 Championship. Heading into the season finale, the Copart-supported racer sits fourth in the championship standings and is one of only five drivers in contention for the title.
Buoyed by his standout performance in Belgium, Louis is hopeful of achieving similar success in Spain and is looking forward to getting the weekend underway.
“I’m really excited to be back in Euroformula Open this weekend,” Louis said. “I really enjoyed my time in Belgium, I learnt a lot and got myself up to speed quite quickly. It’ll be another new track for me which I’m also really excited about as the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya looks like a fun circuit to drive. Coming into the weekend with the experience of Belgium will really help and I’ll be aiming to build on what we achieved at Spa. As always, a huge thank you to Double R Racing for the opportunity and all of my sponsors for their support in helping to make it possible.”
CEO of MB Partners, Mark Blundell, is similarly enthusiastic for Louis and looks forward to following his progress throughout the weekend.
“I’m delighted to see Louis return to Euroformula Open,” Mark added. “His performance on his debut was nothing short of spectacular and he very much proved his talent. It’s all a result of his hard work and dedication which I’m sure will serve him just as well this weekend. I wish him the very best of luck.”
The weekend begins with Free Practice on Thursday before the first two qualifying sessions on Friday at 11:25 and 15:20 local time. The third qualifying session takes place on Saturday morning at 09:00 with the opening two races of the weekend at 12:10 and 16:05 respectively. Continuing on Sunday, the fourth and final qualifying session will begin the day’s action at 09:00 with the final two races scheduled for 12:30 and 15:55.
